Obituary

Nancy L. Wright, 84, of Nashport, Ohio died Friday afternoon, September 3, 2021 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville.

Born July 15, 1937 in Newark, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Gail A. and Verna B (McKee) Cline and was a 1955 graduate of Hanover-Toboso High School.  Nancy was a member of Hanover Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Farm Bureau.

As a life-long farmer, she loved planting and spraying crops.  She became a traveling mid-wife during calving and lambing season for many local farmers.  In her later years she has enjoyed sharing her knowledge and watching Nate, Tanya and Bryer run the family farm and see the return of a beautiful cattle operation.  Nancy was well respected as a fantastic cook.  During her child rearing years, she had an open-door policy for any child needing a safe haven, a place to stay or a meal.  It was commonplace to find up to 14 kids at her table daily and a yard full of horses and motorcycles.  She enjoyed bluegrass and gospel music, often traveling to Nashville or bluegrass festivals and having concerts at the farm.  She also enjoyed auctions, antiques, gardening and flowers.

Surviving is one daughter, Stacey Wright of Nashport and two sons, Mike (Mary) Wright of Mercer, Pennsylvania and Joe Wright (Tami Keaton Dunlap) of Newark.  Nancy's greatest joy came from her grandchildren, Andrea Wright, Nate Parrill (Tanya Smith), Kellan Wright (Trisha Parrish), Abra (Rodney) Ford, Kody (Makayla) Wright, Michael Jane Bush, Rachael Atkinson; her great grandchildren, Dustin, Kevan, Mahala, Logan, Bryer, Cooper, Kasen, Kohen, Sawyer, Noah Addison, Sierra, Skyler, Catalina, Faith, Summer, Damien, Sabrina, Katrina and Rodney and her great great grandchildren, Alayna, Amiyah, Kaiden, Jemma.  Also surviving is a sister in-law, Joann (Ed) Kline and her special friends Ginny Mills, Lynne McLeish, Dennis and Alice Athey and Mike Diehl.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John N. Wright, whom she married June 5, 1955 and who died June 18, 2012 and a great grandson, Hayden Joseph Wright who died February 14, 2014.

A memorial service in honor of Nancy will be 11:00am Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the family farm in Nashport with Pastor Rebecca Tollefs.  It will feature music by The Kevin Prater Band and Sugar Creek Bluegrass.  Following the memorial service, lunch will be served at the Hanover Presbyterian Church, 732 Main Street, NE, Newark (Hanover), Ohio.  For more information contact Stacey Wright.
