G. Monroe Allen, 98, of Dresden, died at 12:15PM Monday November 11, 2002 in Sunnyview Nursing Home. Mr. Allen was born July 5, 1904 in Zanesville, a son of the late Thomas and Mary (Gilligan) Allen. He was a member of St. Ann?s Catholic Church in Dresden and had been a meat department manager for the Kroger Co. in Columbus and Zanesville. Surviving are a nephew, Charles Green and a niece Diana Snyder. Preceding him in death were his wife, Averil G. Allen, whom he married November 8, 1942, on February 21, 1997 and a niece Eleanor Green. Funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday November 14, 2002 at 10:30AM at St. Ann?s Catholic Church in Dresden with Father Jack Maynard officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the mass at the church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Zanesville.
