Mona Belle Nye, 77, of Trinway, died unexpectedly at 8:03PM Thursday October 21, 2004 at Genesis Good Samaritan following complications from surgery Saturday Oct. 16, 2004.Mrs. Nye was born August 24, 1927 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Charles and Rachel (Woodgeard) Kennedy. She was a member of the Dresden U. Methodist Church and Olive Branch Chapter #451 O.E.S. in Duncan Falls. She enjoyed the challenge of word puzzles, the Cooking Channel, but most of all, her home, visits from her family, especially her grandchildren.Surviving are five sons, Walter R. Nye, III of Trinway, Eugene C. (Debra) Nye of Dresden, Timothy J. Nye of Nashport, Jeffrey A. Nye of Trinway, John A. Nye of Huntington, WV; five daughters, Rosemary (Jerry) Moore of Dresden, Vickey S. (Wayne) Lauvray of Adams Mills, Monica L. (Dean) Brown of Coshocton, Cheryl A. Carothers of Dresden, Lori (Dan) Birkhimer of Dresden, brother, Delno L. (Freda) Kennedy of Lancaster; grandchildren, Kristina S. (Donald) Cutshall, Christopher W. Lauvray and fianc?, Stefanie Stevens, Matthew S. (Jennifer) Lauvray, Britton (Sean) M. Beck, Ashleigh N. Nye, Courtnie M. Nye, Katelyn R. Nye, Elizabeth M. Nye, Sarah R. Nye, Amanda L. Brown, April D. Brown, Ann M. Brown, Cassandra A. Carothers, Chayton M. Nye, Danielle R. Birkhimer, Tyler J. Birkhimer; two great grandchildren, Rachel A. Dovenbarger, Devan R. Cutshall.She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. Nye, Jr. on April 24, 1990 and whom she married April 12, 1947; brothers, Andrew, Jessie, Tressie, Henry, Boyd, Charles, Jr., Walter Eugene, Elden, Elwood and Paul Kennedy and a sister, Mary R. Kennedy.Friends may call 2-4PM & 6-9PM Sunday October 24, 2004, and one hour prior to services at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr &Chute Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1PM Monday with Pastor Ricci Arthur officiating. Burial will follow in the Dresden Cemetery.
