Obituary

A funeral service for Millie V. Hunt, 80 of Newark will be held Friday, January 7, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Charles W. Noble officiating. Entombment will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens with military services conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Mrs. Hunt died Monday January 3, 2005 at her residence. She was born August 27, 1924 in Eastville, Virginia. Mrs. Hunt retired in 1973 from the Newark Air Force Base as a Quality Control Clerk. She served as a sergeant in the Women?s Army Air Corps during WWII. She was a member of American Legion Post 85 and attended Blessed Sacrament Church. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Mitchell and Elaine Manning both of Newark; five sons, Chester Hunt, Jr. of Columbus, Carl Hunt, Sr., Daniel Hunt, Eugene Hunt, all of Newark and Jerome Hunt of Heath; three sisters, Manie Goodwyn of Cheriton, VA., Blanch Goodwyn of Trenton, NJ., Chanie Valentine of Randallstown, MD., twenty-one grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; step-mother, Pauline Morris and special friend, Irene Greene. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel T. & Millie (Satchell) Morris; her husband of 49 years, Chester E. Hunt, Sr., September 8, 2002; a daughter, Brenda Bibbins, February 7, 2004; brothers, Clarence Joynes and Otho N. Lister; a sister, Evelina Jarvis and a grandson. Calling hours will be observed Thursday, January 6, 2005 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road Newark, Ohio 43055.
