Obituary

F. Mildred Summers, 88, of 110 Chestnut Street, Dresden, died at 12:40P.M. Monday January 30, 2006 at her residence following a long illness. She will be deeply missed by many loved ones. Born April 13, 1917 in Washington Township, Muskingum County, she was a Dresden resident most of her life. She was married August 10, 1939 to Howard F. Summers. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her faith in the Lord has been an inspiration to her family and all who knew her. She was a longtime member of the Jubilee Revival Center. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her friends and beloved family. She also enjoyed hymns and gospel music and church camp. Most of all she enjoyed taking care of babies and children. Among her surviving loved ones are one daughter, and son in law, with whom they chose to make their home, Linda and Victor Prouty of Dresden, one son and daughter in-law David and Dorothy Summers of Dresden, seven grandchildren, Rick and Valarie Prouty of Dresden, Kim Prouty (Randy?s widow) of Dresden, Terry and Heather Prouty of Nashport, Brian and Kim Summers of Nashport, Todd Summers Mt. View, California, Eric and Shelly Summers of Dresden, Crystal and Chris Miller of Nashport, eleven grandchildren, Shawn, Faith, Maranda Prouty of Dresden, Kyle, LeAnne, Lindsey and Tara Prouty of Dresden, Tristan and Hayden Prouty of Nashport, Cameron and Sydney Summers of Dresden, one sister, Esther Romine of Adams Lane Care Center in Zanesville, one brother in law, Ralph Romine of Dresden and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Howard F. Summers who died April 14, 1999; her parents, George and Gladys Dickerson, two sisters, Hazel Cullins and Sarah Dickerson, infant, one brother in law, John Cullins and one grandson, Randy Lee Prouty. Friends may call 2-4 & 7-9PM Wednesday February 1, 2006 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1PM Thursday at Jubilee Revival Center, St. Rt. 60 Dresden, with Pastors Mike and Melody Foster officiating. Burial will follow in the Dresden Cemetery.
