Mildred Irene McDonald, 86, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Tuesday afternoon at her home.  Her loving family was at her side.

Born September 26, 1936 in Mary Ann Township of Licking County she was a daughter of the late Jay and Mary (Wilson) Miller and was a 1954 graduate of Newark High School.  For several years following high school Mildred worked as a secretary at the E. T. Rugg Company of Newark and as a secretary for Judge Winston Allen and Attorney Neil Laughlin.  In 2001 Mildred retired from Riverview School District where she served as a teacher's aide at Union School for over 35 years.   She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church and the local area garden club.  Mildred loved to go on trips, but her most favorite trip of all was visiting Dollywood, a trip she has made many times over the years.  Her greatest enjoyment was her loving family.

Surviving is her loving husband of over 66 years, Dale E. McDonald whom she married July 1, 1956; two sons and daughters in-law, Michael D. and Lisa McDonald and Gregory and Nancy McDonald, all of Frazeysburg; five grandchildren, Dustin (Sabrina) McDonald, Joshua (Rachel) McDonald, Jeremiah McDonald, Elizabeth (Tim) Anderson and Breanna (Daniel) Siekbert and thirteen great grandchildren, Dusty, Mia, Quinten, Wyatt, Tanner, Emma, Noah, Wesley, Carson, Ava, Bo, Millie and Ty.  Also surviving is one brother and sister in-law, Ronald J. and Diana Miller of Newark.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Seth McDonald who died March 13, 2005 and a sister and brother in-law, Kathleen and Charlie Kidd.

For the past twelve years Mildred has lived with Alzheimer's disease.  As Alzheimer's progresses, it requires more and more love and care to be given to the patient.  Mildred's family wishes to give a very grateful 'thank you' to three special personal caregivers who assisted them with her care.  They are Becky Bush, Beth Rittal and Amy Bremer.  The family also wishes to thank Jenny, Brooke, Krystal and Erin from Hospice of Central Ohio who lovingly helped with Mildred during her final days.

Calling hours will be 4pm to 8pm Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the funeral home with Minister Sam Dunn officiating.  Mildred will be laid to rest in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
