Mildred McGlade Cordray, 87, of Dresden, died at 10:45PM Saturday November 9, 2002 at the New Albany Gardens Care Center. Born May 19, 1915 in Dresden, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Krebs) McGlade she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Dresden since 1927 and had worked in the dental office of her brother-in-law Dr. James McConnell in Coshocton. Surviving are two daughters and son-in-law, Connie and John Rowe of Calabash, North Carolina, and Sharon Hains of Columbus; her four beloved grandchildren, David Rowe, of Wilmington, N.C., Mark and Heather (Rowe) Manning of Dayton, Jenna Hains of Columbus and Eric Hains and wife Sharae and daughter Andrea of Newark; her brother-in-law and sister, Dr. James and Jean (McGlade) McConnell of Coshocton and their two daughters, son and families. She was particularly close to her niece Mary Ellen (McGlade) Hahn, and her husband John and had several nieces and nephews and children of her brothers. Many dear friends from the community and the church blessed Mrs. Cordray with many kindness?s over the years, especially following the death of her dear husband, Elmer M. (Tug) Cordray whom she married April 15, 1935 and who died October 14, 1989 after serving more than 45 years on the Dresden Fire Department and was an avid sportsman active with the Tri-Valley Schools sports programs. Also preceding her in death were three brothers and their wives, Kenneth (Dorothy) McGlade, George (Virginia) McGlade and Wilbur (Maxine) McGlade. Graveside services will be held on Thursday November 14, 2002 at 11:00AM in the Dresden Cemetery with Dr. John J. Arnold officiating.
