Michael J. Holtz, 74, of Nashport, Ohio died Tuesday morning, May 4, 2021 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville, Ohio.

Born February 23, 1947 in Zanesville, he was a son of the late Chester and Marie (Rooms) Holtz and was a 1965 graduate of Frazeysburg High School.  Following high school Michael proudly served our country for four years in the United States Navy.  He was a member of the Ohio State Highway Patrol for several years before he managed aircraft modifications at the Newark Air Force Base in Heath, Ohio.  Later he became a government liaison in the aircraft industry.  Michael faithfully attended Trinity Full Gospel Church of Zanesville. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid Ohio State Football fan.

Surviving is his loving wife of nearly 55 years, Patty (Kirk) Holtz whom he married July 3, 1966; a daughter, Kimberly Holtz of Newark, Ohio; a son, Matthew (Kristy) Holtz of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; five grandchildren, Tanesha, Lexi, Mireya, Kyla and Kaleb; one great grandchild, Dominic and a brother, Larry Slatzer of Zanesville.

Calling hours will be 3pm to 5pm Friday, May 7, 2021 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 5:00pm Friday, May 7, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Donny Rowland officiating. A private family burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
