Michael Edward Barrick Sr., 77, of Newark, died Sunday evening, September 14, 2025, at Licking Memorial Hospital.

Born December 29, 1947, in Newark, Ohio, he was a son of the late Harold and Annabelle (Hupp) Barrick and a 1966 graduate of River View High School.  Mike retired after 30 years of service at Rockwell and was a member of the Newark Eagles and UAW #1037.  He enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Bengals and loved fishing.  Mike coached kids' baseball for many years and participated in Bowling League with his wife, Shelia.

Surviving is his wife, Shelia S. (Warner) Barrick, whom he married on November 17, 1990; six children, Teia Pepper, Tony Barrick, Kelly Thorley, Peggy (John) Loos, Doug (Sandee) Barrick, and Monica (Donald) Nelson; twenty grandchildren, Jeanie, Parker, Preston, Gwen, Conner, Peter, Mikey, Tomika, Alexandra, Victoria, Deagen, Robert, Pamela, Jason, Johnny, Audrey, Austin, Orson, Elgin, Morgan and Dominik; twenty-two great grandchildren; and three siblings, Debbie (Jim) Molden, Bobby (Loretta) Walters and Diana Lynn Vlachos.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael "Mike" Barrick, Jr.; and two brothers, Jack and Frank Barrick and sister, Joanne Rice.

Family and friends may visit 2:00-4:00pm, Monday, September 22, 2025, at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil and Chute Funeral Home, 110 W. Third Street, Frazeysburg.

Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation at 4:00pm, Monday, September 22, 2025, with Pastor Mike Swartz officiating.
