A celebration of life service will be held for Melissa M. "Lesa" Mitchell, 56 of Newark on Monday July 15, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. at the Newark chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Cory Campbell officiating. Visitation will be observed from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Lesa passed away on Tuesday July 9, 2024 at the Arlington Care Center. She was born August 19, 1967 in Newark to the late Robert W. and Atha "Sis" (Stalling) Shrivers.

Lesa was a 1985 graduate of Licking Valley High School. She was employed in several occupations. She was happiest caring for children especially her grandchildren. Favorite pastimes are shopping and coloring.

Survivors include her children, Trittnee Mitchell and Kody Mitchell; grandchildren, Kooper Mitchell, Tariq Davie, Talayah Davie; sister, Bobbi Shrivers; niece and nephews, Brooklyn (Jack) Bogdan, Blake (Natasha) Short, Christian (Tasha) Spellman; several great-nieces and nephews.
