Mearldene Sims, 68, of Trinway, Ohio died Tuesday morning, September 13, 2016 at her home.

Born November 12, 1947 in Raysal, West Virginia she was a daughter of the late William and Alma (Morgan) Webb. Mrs. Sims was a homemaker and a former employee of SBS of Newark. She enjoyed making picture collages and shopping. Mearldene had a generously big heart and loved helping people in need.

Surviving is her husband, John E. Sims whom she married March 17, 1977; two sons, James Beaver of Newark, Ohio and Brian (Heather) Beaver of Fallsburg, Ohio; two daughters, Karen (Jim) Sunkle of Newark and Marlena Sims of Dresden, Ohio; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Also surviving are three brothers, Douglas (Julie) Webb of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mark (Lisa) Webb of Indiana and Gary (Jackie) Webb on Thornville, Ohio; and two sisters, Louvenia Bunting and Glynnis Lee of Newark and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be 6pm to 8pm Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.

Graveside memorial services will be held at a later date in Hanover Cemetery.
