Obituary

FRAZEYSBURG: L. Maxine Newsom, 86 of Nashport died Saturday morning, September 29, 2012 at Willow Haven Nursing Home.

She was born March 12, 1926 in Stockport to the late Elmer E. and Elsie (Coler) Longfellow. Mrs. Newsom had worked for Essex Wire and later United Technology. She was a member of Nashport United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the Women's Circle. She loved to play bingo.

Survivors include her children, Paul L. (Alice) Newsom of Frazeysburg, David (Beverly) Newsom of Nashport, and Tina Maxwell of Dresden; brothers, Robert (Karen) Longfellow of Gambier, Larry (Jeanie) Longfellow of Toboso; sisters, Mary Louise Anders of Philo, Diane (Keith) Turner of Nashport; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Newsom in 1995; a daughter Jane E. McKee; a grandson, Bradley S. McKee; two brothers and one sister.

Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at the FRAZEYSBURG CHAPEL of VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 110 Third Street, Frazeysburg.

A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the funeral home with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Irville Cemetery.
