Obituary

Mavis I. Shryock, 91, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Wednesday morning, May 7, 2014 at her home.
Born March 18, 1923 in Coshocton County, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Frank G. and Edythe I. (Jones) Arnold and was a graduate of Warsaw High School. Mrs. Shryock was a homemaker and a member of the Frazeysburg Community Bible Church.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald Shryock of Coshocton and Mick (Darlene) Shryock of Bloomfield, Ohio; nine daughters, Carol Fortney of Heath, Janet Baker of Coshocton, Sue Sowards of Heath, Nancy Holmes of Newark, Sally Trowbridge of Heath, Edith (Rob) Sellers of Nashport, Kathy Pryor of Zanesville, Peggy Wade of Newark and Penny Moder of Newark; thirty-six grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Also surviving are her very special friends, Jean Arnett and Bobby Arnold, both of Frazeysburg.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Murl T. Shryock whom she married March 29, 1942 and who died December 10, 2000; a son Rick Shryock; three grandchildren; a brother, Jack L. Arnold and six sons in-law, Jim Fortney, Bob Baker, Rex Sowards, Roy Holmes, Ron Pryor and Bruce Wade.
Calling hours will be 2pm to 6pm Sunday, May 11, 2014 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday, May 12, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastors Al Van Fossen and Eric Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Perryton Cemetery.
