Mary C. Reilly, 88 of Dresden passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Clay House in Zanesville after a lengthy illness.
Mary was born September 3, 1922 in Canton to the late Michael and Bernice (McBride) Reilly. She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1940. Mary went to work for Wright Aeronautical in New Jersey during World War II. She retired after 38 years of service as a title clerk from Morrison Pontiac and Cadillac which later became Kane Pontiac and Cadillac. Mary had many fond memories; one of her fondest was being at Time Square on V-J Day.
She was a member of St. Ann Parish in Dresden and a long-time member of the Daughters of Isabella.
A beloved Aunt, who shared her many fond memories with her surviving 9 nephews; 12 nieces; numerous great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; and sister in law Betty Reilly.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, William W. (Bill), Paul J. (P.J.), Dr. James (Jim), Lawrence (Larry), Richard (Dickie), and Charles P. (Charlie) Reilly; and her sisters, Betty Coyle, Helen Smith, and Patricia Armbrust.
Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street, Dresden. A vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m. followed by the Rosary.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 7, 2010 at St. Ann Church, 405 Chestnut Street, Dresden with Father Jack Maynard, celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Genesis Hospice or St. Ann Catholic Church.
