Mary Catherine Preston, 85, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Saturday evening, October 18, 2014 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville.
Born October 3, 1929 in Blue Rock, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Roy and Mae (Ethell) Fogle and was a graduate of Union Local High School. Mrs. Preston was retired from the Ohio Plastics Company of Frazeysburg and she attended the Frazeysburg Community Bible Church. She enjoyed playing the guitar and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed being with her pet dog, "Rascal".
Surviving are three daughters, Cheryl (Steve) Trego, Teresa McDaniel and Karen Hinkle, all of Frazeysburg; one son, George A. Preston of Ventura, California; six grandchildren, Aimee (Matthew) Dosch, Jessica (Billy) Spellman, Stephanie Preston, Rori (Eric) Leath, Jacob (Amanda) Preston and Jamie (Todd) Heinzman; eleven great grandchildren, Kaleb, Kaden and Carter Dosch, Austin, Gavyn and Chase Spellman, Jaxson Preston, Conner and Cale Preston, Parker and Ryleigh Heinzman; three step great grandchildren, Austin and Tayler Dosch and Peyton Clark; two step great great grandchildren; a daughter in-law, Frances Preston of Frazeysburg; a cousin, William (Delores) King of Thornville, her former daughter in-law, Nannette Sherman of Zanesville and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded by her loving husband, George J. Preston, whom she married November 20, 1948 and who died January 17, 2000; her son, Roy W. Preston who died August 15, 2011; a son in-law, Randy McDaniel who died September 7, 1999; two sisters, Alice Lowther and Thelma Jones and a foster brother, Elton Palmer.
Calling hours will be 2pm to 7pm Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the funeral home with Mr. Forrest "Frosty" Pierce and Pastor Eric Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
