Mary Jean Orr, 78, of Zanesville, died at 11:58AM Wednesday July 2, 2003 at Adams Lane Care Center where she had been a resident three months. Mrs. Orr was born September 6, 1924 in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Renwick and Edith (Conner) Meighen. Faith, family and her home were most the important elements of her life. A long time and active member of Market Street Baptist Church, following WWII, her dearest friends were the members of the Crusaders Sunday Sunday School Class. She was also active in the Westview CCL for many years. She is survived by children, Rebecca S. (Rev. Larry) Baker of Columbus, Nancy L. (Andy) Gardner of Zanesville, Robert W. Orr, Jr., Adamsville, Ray (Lois) Orr of Dresden, grandchildren, Ross (Shelly) Baker of West Jefferson, Rachel A. Baker and friend of the family Dan Baldwin and his son Andrew, of West Jefferson, Chad M. James and his fianc?e?, Jamie Lyle of Alexandria, Virg., Christopher R. Orr, serving with the US Army, Jeffrey B. Orr of Dresden, Zachary A. Gardner of Zanesville; great grandchildren, Caleb A. and Jessica E. Baker of West Jefferson; her sister in law and long time friends, Mary V. (Kermit) Orr Clyne of Munster, Ind., niece, Carol (Steve) Offutt and their children, Brett and Elise of Arlington, Virg., nephew Kevin Clyne of Munster, Ind., and an aunt Alice Heskett of Akron. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Orr, Sr., whom she married September 25, 1942, on August 15, 1991 and a daughter, Linda Jean Orr in 1955. Friends may call 11AM until a 1PM service Saturday July 5, 2003 at the Market Street Baptist Church. Pastors Scott Johnston and George Kimsey will officiate, burial will follow in Memorial Park.
