FRAZEYSBURG ? Mary Grace McKee, 88, of Zanesville, Ohio, but a longtime resident of Columbus, Ohio, died at 12:10pm Friday, December 22, 2006 at Clay House in Zanesville. Born March 11, 1918 in Pike Township of Coshocton County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Milton Clyde and Nora (Oxley) McKee and was a 1934 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. She attended Muskingum College attaining a B. S, and she graduated from The Ohio State University with a B. S. in 1952 and a M. A. in 1958. She retired from the Upper Arlington Schools, having taught Elementary School and as a reading specialist for 42 years, including a one room school near Fallsburg, Ohio and Granville Elementary Schools. Miss McKee was a member of the Indianola Presbyterian Church in Columbus and earlier the Frazeysburg Presbyterian Church. She was a longtime member of the educational society, Delta Kappa Gamma International and its Gamma Omicron Chapter of Columbus. In addition, she was a member of Phi Delta Gamma and past president of the Columbus Chapter and of Pi Lambda Theta. Surviving is her brother, Roy E. McKee of Frazeysburg; a sister in-law, Helen McKee of Gambier, Ohio; nieces Jean (Bert) Kinsey of Frazeysburg, Eleanor (Neil) Fujita of Waverly, Ohio and Nancy (Wayne) Yost of Indiana, Pennsylvania; nephews, George (Nancy) McKee of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lester (Helen) McKee of Gambier; cousins Marsena Sager of Newark, Ohio Kathryn Drake of Lebanon, Ohio and Marguerite Selleck of Richmond, California; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Chester McKee and his wife Audrey, Charles McKee, and Bryce McKee and his wife Maxine; a sister in-law, Lois McKee; and two nieces, Kathryn McKee McCune and Margaret Anne McKee. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm Thursday, December 28, 2006 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Funeral services will be 10:30am Friday, December 29, 2006 at the funeral home with Dr. James Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
