Obituary

Mary I. Mozena, 71, of Newcomerstown, formerly of Adamsville, died Wednesday evening Sept. 5, 2007 at OSU Hospital in Columbus following a three month illness. Mrs. Mozena was born November 27, 1935 in Adamsville, a daughter of the late Marion ?Friday? Hatfield and Hazel (Mox) Hatfield of Adamsville. She was a graduate of Adamsville High School and a member of the Adamsville United Methodist Church, where she had been a member the longest in the congregation. Before moving from Adamsville, she had worked at Abbots Store, Mosaic Tile in Zanesville and the OSU Admissions Office. For 46 years she worked with her husband in his veterinarian practice in Newcomerstown until her illness in June. She was a registered and licensed animal technician. Surviving are her husband, Dr. J. Phillip Mozena, whom she married July 30, 1960; four sons, John Phillip (Tisha) Mozena, II, of Newcomerstown, Daniel Adam (Debra) Mozena of Brewston Mills, WV, Mark Alan (Daisy) Mozena, Troy Lee (Michelle) Mozena both of Newcomerstown, grandchildren, Tonya (D.J.) Sanders of Uhrichsville, John Phillip Mozena, III, Devan Belt, Kayla Mozena, Jadeyn Mozena, Collin Mozena, Garret Mozena, Cyrus Mozena, Blayze Mozena, Tess Mozena, Hope Mozena all of Newcomerstown; great grandchildren, Zo? Sanders and Brooklyn Sanders both of Uhrichsville; brothers and sisters, James (Joan) Hatfield of Zanesville, Jr. (Mary Jo) Hatfield, Jane (Delmar) Dutro, David (Judy) Hatfield, Jean (Vern) Hittle, Earl (Diane) Hatfield all of Adamsville, Mitch (Linda) Hatfield of Chandlersville, Randy (Patty) Hatfield of Norwich, Rita (Tom) Lazar of Nashport, Rocky (Vickie) Hatfield of Adamsville, Mona (Allen) West of Zanesville, Patty (Duane) Brock of Zanesville, Lynn (Cindy) Hatfield of Adamsville, sister in law, Judy Hatfield of Adamsville and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Hatfield. Friends may call Saturday Sept. 8, 2007 from 2-5PM at the Ourant Funeral Home, 407 E. Canal St, Newcomerstown, Ohio or Sunday 2-5PM at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 8005 East Street, Adamsville, Ohio. A funeral service will be held at 1PM Monday at the Adamsville United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery, Adamsville.
