Mary Ardena Hastings, 78, of Zanesville, Ohio died Thursday morning, September 29, 2011 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.
Born November 22, 1932 in Muskingum County she was the daughter of the late James H. and Eva E. (Newell) Smith. Mary was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother having been a home maker a raising thirteen children.
Surviving are nine sons, James (Eva) Hastings, Frank (Kathy) Hastings, Roy (Kathy) Hastings, Robert (Virginia) Hastings, Charles (Christine) Hastings, Mike Hastings and Lincoln (Lori) Hastings all of Zanesville, Stanley (Ruth Ann) Hasting and Leonard (Amy) Hastings of Adamsville; two daughters, Mary (Kenny) Reihl and Frances Hastings both of Zanesville; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a sister, Emma (Robert) Hutton of Valdora, Georgia and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank W. Hastings; a daughter Eva "Sis" Hastings; a son, David Hastings and a brother James Smith.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Monday, October 3, 2011 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 10:00am Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hastings Family Cemetery.
