Obituary

A memorial service for Mary Ann Edie, 76 of Newark will be held Saturday April 28, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hanover Presbyterian Church, 732 N. Main Street N.E. Newark, Ohio with Pastor Charlsie Ramsey officiating. An additional service will be held Sunday April 29, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 209 Main Street, Bowerston, Ohio. Private family burial services will be held at Hanover Cemetery. Mrs. Edie died Wednesday April 25, 2007 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born December 25, 1930 in Uhrichsville, Ohio to the late Ed C. and Margaret (Uhrich) Milliken. She graduated from Bowerston High School, attended Capital University and graduated from The Ohio State University, with a degree in Vocational Home Economics. She taught at Jewett High School and worked as a Home Economist for the Ohio Power Co. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, Omicron Nu, Phi Upsilon Omicron, Home Economics Honoraries, fifty plus year member of Ohio Eastern Star, former 4H advisor, Honorary State Homemaker by the FHA, Honorary Licking Valley Chapter Degree of FFA, Life member of Licking Valley FFA, longtime member of Licking County Home Economics Association, Fallsburg Homemakers. Member of Hanover Presbyterian Church and past Sunday School teacher, choir member and Elder. She was a former board member of YWCA and Licking County United Way. A former volunteer for Licking Memorial Hospital and The Works. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Dean C. Edie, whom she married, December 26, 1955; daughter, Lucinda J. (Doug) Wills of Newark; son, Michael M. (Kathy) Edie of Newark; three grandchildren, Geoffry Dean Edie, Hannah Elyse Wills, Kirsten Margaret Wills; brother, William U. (Joyce) Milliken of Fresno, Ohio; three cousins, Frank H. (June) Milliken of Bowerston, Ohio, James T. (Carolyn) Milliken of Scottsdale, AZ., S. David (Marguerite) Milliken of Kansas; three exchange students, Steen Laursen of Denmark, Jose? Antonio Gonzales Aninat of Chile and Magnus Lindblad of Sweden; several nieces , nephews and special niece Sara (Milliken) Wortman. The family will be present at the church on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hanover Presbyterian Church, 732 N.
