Mary E. Bishop Dowell, 92, of Nashport, Ohio died Tuesday afternoon, February 14, 2017 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville.

Born May 1, 1924 in Pine Grove, West Virginia she was a daughter of the late Isaiah and Naomi (Clapper) Brewer. Mary was retired from United Technologies of Zanesville where she worked on the assembly line for 36 years. She enjoyed doing embroidery, doing puzzles and gardening. She was a very happy person and loved being with her family.

Surviving is one daughter, Donna (Gary) Doyle of Nashport; one son, Ronald (Catherine) Bishop of Nashport; four grandchildren, Sharon (Rodney) Spaulding, Cindy (Bob) Bollinger, Shawn (Sherry) Bishop and Ronnie (Judy) Bishop, Jr.; ten great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy E. Bishop, who died November 2, 1968; her second husband, Arthur T. Dowell, who died August 19, 2004; one son; one daughter; a grandson, Jeff Doyle; one grandchild; one great great grandchild; two brothers, Melvin Brewer and Eugene Brewer and a sister, Mildred Diebold.

Calling hours will be from 11am to 1pm Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday at the funeral home with Mr. Bill Jones officiating. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery.
