Obituary

Mary E. Cassady, 93, of East Fultonham, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at her home. Mrs. Cassady was born May 11, 1909 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late Charles and Irene (Stoeckel) Egbert. A graduate of Jefferson High School in Dresden, she was a schoolteacher in several rural Muskingum County schools and had later worked at the Times Recorder. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Surviving are her children, Maryanne (Don) Winters of Hot Springs, Ark., Dr. Charles Louis (Mary Lou) Cassady of Solon, Laura Lee (Lawrence) Franks of Mt. Vernon, Paula Jane Cassady of the home, Attorney Jon Michael (Judy) Cassady of Hazelhurst, Wis.; eighteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren; and one sister, Josephine Balz of Cincinnati. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Louis Paul Cassady in 1979 and one son, Timothy Cassady in 2001, and a sister, Irene Graves. Friends may call from 9:00AM until 10:45AM Saturday September 28, 2002 at the Vensil&Orr Funeral Home in Dresden. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00AM at St. Ann Catholic Church in Dresden with Fr. Harold Schneider celebrant. Burial will be in the Dresden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Shelter, 1431 Serenity Lane, Zanesville, OH 43701; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
