NEWARK ? A funeral service for Mary Evelyn Bonifield, 74 of Newark will be held at 4:00 p. m. Friday, July 22, 2005 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Greg Boyd, Elder officiating. Burial will follow in Dresden Cemetery. Mrs. Bonifield died Monday July 18, 2005 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 8, 1930 in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Lawson Garfield and Edna Alice (Stalnaker) West. Mrs. Bonifield had worked at Mosaic Tile and the Holophane Co. and had been office manager at Dry Creek Gravel and retired as office manager at Avis Car Rental at Walker&Battat. She had been a member of the CCL in Dresden, was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Newark and was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Clarence Donn Bonifield, whom she married February 21, 1953; children, Deborah Jo (Tom) Bibart of Newark, Bradley Donn Bonifield of Raleigh, NC, Julie Kay (Shawn Rowland) Hollis of Newark, two sisters, Saundra Pritchard of Zanesville, Carol Kaido of Zanesville; 11 grandchildren, Mallory Evelyn Bibart, Stephee Kay Bibart, Thomas Ashton Donn Bibart, Tina Myranda Bibart, Kevin Antonio Bibart, Charmayne Mariah Bibart, Nicosia Dianne Bibart, Monica Vanessa Bibart, Jazzica Tennille Bibart, Anislee Gwen Bibart, Hunter Andrew Bibart, nieces, Melissa (Holland) Mason of Mt. Vernon, Lori (Pritchard) Buchanan of Zanesville, Kelly (Painter) Ashby of Zanesville, nephew Tim Painter of Zanesville. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Lillie (Holland) McIntyre and an infant child Bonifield and infant grandchild Rowland. Calling hours will be observed Thursday July 21, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
