A memorial service for Mary Ellen (Wilcox) Blatt, 72, of Zanesville, will be held Wednesday January 7, 2004 at 11AM at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Ricci Arthur officiating. Mrs. Blatt died at 5AM Sunday January 4, 2004 at the Muskingum Co. Home. Born April 20, 1931 in Dresden a daughter of John Wayne and Juanita (Paynter) Wilcox, she was a 1949 graduate of Jefferson High School. All during her life, she gave of her time, whether at school for her children or at the American Cancer Society or the Muskingum Co. Home. For many years she cared for the ?Mini Store? at the County Home. She was the beloved wife of James J. (Jim) Blatt, whom she married October 20, 1951, mother of Kathie Blatt Dannemann (Tom) of Zanesville, Kristie Blatt of Orlando, Florida, Mike Blatt of Zanesville, Mark (Tanya) Blatt, of Zanesville, grandmother of Taylor, MaKenna and Austin Blatt; sister of John, Robert and James Wilcox all of Dresden, Wanda Thornsley of Coshocton, Alice Guibao of Sacramento, Calf., and Janet Ripple of Dresden and the late Martha Rodgers, Donna Tignor and Richard Wilcox.
