Martha Sue Rector, 91, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Monday evening, September 9, 2024, at her home.

Born January 31, 1933, in Morgan County, she was a daughter of the late Raymond O. and Anna G. (Unger) Lucas and a 1951 graduate of Frazeysburg High School.  She was a lifetime member of the Perryton United Methodist church where she attended faithfully for over 80 years, often singing in the choir with her twin sister, Mary.  Sue was strong in her faith and devoted to her church.  She enjoyed nature, tending to her flower garden and watching the butterflies and birds the flowers attracted.  What Sue loved the most was spending time with her family.  She looked forward to Sundays when she would host her family for big meals following church services.

Surviving are her three daughters; Marsha "Marti" (Richard Sellers) Rector-Freas of Newark, Cynthia "Cindy" (Bob) Lucas of Zanesville and Amy Freeland of Frazeysburg; three grandchildren, Jill (Andy) Freas-Gatts, John (Brittany) Freas, and Ron Freeland; six great grandchildren, Maya Keefe, Gabi and Aden Webster, Dusty Freas, Lane Webster, and Justin Klotz; a sister in-law, Evelyn Romine; a brother in-law, Carl Rector and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl "Eugene" Rector whom she married December 1, 1951 and who died November 3, 2005 and five siblings, Vivian Lucas, Charles Lucas, twin brothers Donald and Ronald Lucas, and her twin sister, Mary Humphrey.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, September 19, 2024 at the Perryton United Methodist Church, 6139 Licking Valley Road, Frazeysburg, OH 43822, with Pastor Courtney Williams officiating.

The family invites you to visit one hour prior to the Celebration of Life and stay for a meal following the service.

A private family burial will take place at Frazeysburg Cemetery.
