Martha A. Cameron, 95, of Frazeysburg died Wednesday morning, August 8, 2012 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville.
Born March 2, 1917 in Muskingum Township of Muskingum County she was the daughter of the late John T. and Alice (Vandenbark) Riley and was a 1934 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. She was also a 1939 graduate of the Bethesda School of Nursing and was its oldest living graduate. She was a Registered Nurse and she retired in 1979 from Bethesda Hospital. Martha was a member of the Frazeysburg Presbyterian Church, the Presbyterian Women's Organization, Quest Circle, Frazeysburg Card Club, Frazeysburg 50 Club and the Bethesda Alumni Association. She was 4-H Camp nurse at Camp Ohio for many years and she was very active in all community activities.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara (Rick) Trolsen of New Orleans, Louisiana and Beverly Mahon of Dresden; one son, Berlin (Nancy) Cameron of Dresden; six grandchildren, Kisha (Andy) O'Donnell, Molly (Jessie Baker) Mahon, Megan (Jeff) Baker, Corry (Julie) Cameron, Adam (Anna Paul) Cameron and Wesley (Chrissy Berkheimer) Cameron; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her former son in-law, Rodney Cohagen of Nashport.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Jack Cameron; four brothers, Fred, Bern, Joe and Don Riley and two sisters, Roberta Guthrie and Kathryn Spiker.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the funeral home with the Rev. James Story officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
