Obituary

Mark E. Matchett, 55, died Monday September 15, 2008 at his home. Mr. Matchett was born March 25, 1953 in Zanesville, a son of the late Dale D. and Delores A. (Littick) Matchett. He was a 1971 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and worked for Bud Reger and then owned and operated the Gulf Service Station at the corner of Ninth and Main Streets in Dresden for many years. Following closure of the Gulf Station he had worked for the Longaberger Company and later Kendrick Excavating. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends and family, liked motorcycles and was a fan of NASCAR. Surviving are his wife, Patricia G. (Leksan) Matchett, whom he married Janaury 27, 1990; his daughters, Amber L. Matchett of Dresden, Melissa A. Matchett and fianc? Luke Horn of Vanceboro, NC,; brothers and sisters, Terry (Sandy) Matchett of Dresden, Diane (Rick) Smith of Dresden, Debbie (Mike) Seward of Dresden, Denise (Rick) Morrison of Zanesville; father and mother in law, Joe and Gale Leksan and brothers and sisters in law, Richard (Sally) Leksan, Greg ?Bro? (Gail) Leksan, Barb Bishop and Gary Kendron, Jerry (Pam) Leksan, Phil (Lois) Leksan; many nieces and nephews and cousins; his best friend and hunting buddy, Greg Clapper and his beloved dogs, Derby and Lea. Friends may call 4-8PM Thursday September 18, 2008 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11AM Friday at Jubilee Revival Center Church, St. Rt. 60, Dresden with Mary Kaufmann officiating. Burial will follow in the Irville Cemetery.
