Mark Lee Hittle, 76, of Hopedale, Ohio died Tuesday morning, November 2, 2021 at West Virginia University Hospital, Wheeling, West Virginia.
Born August 5, 1945 in Zanesville, Ohio, he was a son of the late Albert Milton and Doris Eileen (Frew) Hittle and was a 1963 graduate of Adamsville High School. Mark proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, loving every moment of it. He continued working on military bases, as a civilian, until he retired at the age of 67. The greatest joy of his life were his three daughters and two grandchildren. His passions were airplanes, jets, reading, playing cards and watching sports, the Cleveland Browns and Indians. Mark loved to laugh and joke. He admired life through the greatest joys to the hardest trials. Mark was grateful for every person he ever encountered.
Surviving are his three daughters, Amberly Rae Hittle, Angela Kae (Nick Schultz) Hittle and Andrea Lea (Joseph) Marker; two grandchildren who captured his heart, Abigail Leigh Marker and Austin Joseph Marker; ex-wife, Kimberly Close-Hittle; his uncle, Forest Allen Frew; nieces, Jennifer Hittle Dunfee and Julie (Barry) Carter; great niece, nephews, several relatives, cousins and many friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice Morison House, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 or Harrison County Cancer Crusaders, 226 Charleston Street, Cadiz, Ohio 43907.
Friends and family may call from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the Adamsville United Methodist Church, 8065 East Street, Adamsville, Ohio 43821 where the funeral service will be held at Noon on Friday, November 5, 2021 with Pastor Mary Molnar officiating.
Mark will be laid to rest at New Hope Cemetery, Adamsville with military honors held by the United States Air Force in conjunction with the Dresden VFW Post 11072 and Dresden American Legion Post 399.
