Marjorie B. Watts, 81, of Zanesville, formerly of Newark, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday December 2, 2008 at Morrison House Hospice in Zanesville. Mrs. Watts was born September 23, 1927 in Newark, a daughter of the late Clyde and Minnie (Sterman) Buckingham. A kind and gentle woman of faith, she was a faithful Christian, a good listener and a devoted wife and mother. From 1966 until the death of her husband, Lester, in 1991, she was a dedicated pastor?s wife assisting him in United Methodist charges in Junction City, Roseville, Sabina, West Liberty and retiring from a charge at Van Wert. She was a member of the Riverside U. Methodist Church in Upper Arlington. Recently she enjoyed volunteering her time at Good Samaritan Hospital. Surviving are her daughter, Debra J. (Russ) Davis of Zanesville, her sons, Greg (Brenda) Watts of Centerville, David (Pam) Watts of Anchorage, Alaska; 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen English and Marian Miller both of Newark, Alice Engle of Lancaster; a special friend and caregiver, Ginny Calendine of Gaysport and the family pet, Sirius. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lester J. Watts and a son, Jeffrey Watts. Friend may call 5-8PM Monday Dec. 8, 2008 and one hour prior to services at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday Dec. 9 at 1PM with Pastor Tom England and Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
