Marjorie V. Seward

Marjorie V. Seward, 96, of Zanesville, died Monday evening, April 20, 2026, at Cedar Hill HealthCare & Rehabilitation.

Born July 26, 1929, in Dresden, Ohio to the late Howard and Goldie (Holdsworth) Lacy and a graduate of Jefferson High School. Marjorie was originally from Dresden but for the past 18 years she has made a home in Zanesville. She attended the First Baptist Church- Dresden, the Dresden Senior Center and enjoyed riding her bicycle around the village.

Surviving are her six children, Mitzi (Mark) Nichols, Cherylene (David) Matthews, Kathy Seward, Jeff (Cathie) Seward, Rodney Seward and Mike (Debbie) Seward; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and a nephew, Derek (Juliet) Lacy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert Lacy and William “Bill” Lacy; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Matthews Halverson.

Family and friends may visit from 3:00pm till the time of service at 4:00pm, Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil | Wagner | Marshall Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00pm, Thursday, April 23, 2026, with Pastor Mike Robison officiating.

Marjorie will be laid to rest at Dresden Cemetery.
