Marion W. "Buck" Crawmer, 92, of Newark, Ohio died Tuesday evening, January 25, 2022 at Hearth Brook Assisted Living in Newark.

Born April 20, 1929 in Toboso, Ohio he was a son of the late Elmer and Dorothy (Lake) Crawmer and was raised by his "special and loving parents", Roy and Margaret Myers.  He was 1948 graduate of Hanover-Toboso High School.  During the Korean War, Buck proudly served our country with the United States Air Force.  He was a former employee of the Bowerston Shale Company.

Buck was very active in the community and was a member of the Licking Valley Church of Christ and Newark Lodge 97, F & AM.  He was a charter member and the first president of Licking Valley Lions Club and a life member of Hanover American Legion Post 764.  He helped organize the Hanover Volunteer Fire Department; he was the first chairman of the Hanover Homecoming and he helped organize the Licking Valley Athletic Boosters Club.  In his spare time, Buck enjoyed antique automobiles and woodworking.

Surviving are his three children, Tyrone L. (Kathleen) Crawmer of Reform, Dianne McPherson of Columbus and Timothy W. Crawmer of Newark; seven grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Jared, Jacob, Jessica, Zachary and Travis; seventeen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 69 years, Mary Jane (Denman) Crawmer, whom he married in Denver, Colorado on February 5, 1951 and who died August 28, 2020; his special mother in-law, Hazel Denman, his brothers, Everett Crawmer, Roy Myers, Jr. and Walter Henry Myers; and a sister, Louise Rinehart.

Calling hours will be from 4pm to 6pm Sunday, January 30, 2022 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 6pm Sunday, January 30, 2022 at the funeral home with Minister Chuck Horsley officiating.

A graveside committal service will be 11am Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Hanover Cemetery where Buck will be laid to rest beside his loving wife, Mary Jane.  The Licking County Veterans Alliance will present military honors.
