A funeral service for Marion A. Brown, 89 of Newark will be held Wednesday June 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Friend officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Brown died Saturday June 12, 2010 at the Arlington Care Center. He was born March 12, 1921 in Grafton, W VA. to the late Lloyd Orion and Elsie (Knotts) Brown.
Mr. Brown retired in 1983 as a technician from the Newark Air Force Base with 16 years service. He had also been employed for 20 years with the Harold Advertising Company. He was veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army in Italy and North Africa. He was a graduate of Grafton High School. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and gardening. He and Hazel spent many enjoyable hours playing cards.
He is survived by his children, Brenda Crossman of Newark, Sharon Price of Newark, Ron (Diana) Brown of Massillon; grandchildren, Wendy (Steve) Beshuk of Gahanna, Mindy (John) McNerney of Newark, David Price of Newark, Emily (Greg) Rhoads of Newark, Brett Brown of Charlotte, NC, Kim (Ron) Odom of Raleigh, NC; step-children, Irene M. (Vaun) Henry of Houston, TX, Edward (Beverly) Lieser of Newark; six step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary (Brewer) Brown, December 15, 1991; second wife, Hazel (Leslie) Brown, July 25, 2009; sons-in-law; Art Geho and David Crossman.
Calling hours will be observed Tuesday, June 15, 2010 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.
