FRAZEYSBURG ? Margaret C. Winterhalter, 74, of Zanesville, Ohio died Saturday morning, December 27, 2008 at Riverside Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. In order to give life to others, Margaret was a tissue donor. Born October 21, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late William Edward and Margaret (Mapes) Winterhalter, Sr. Her family moved from Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania to a farm north of Keene, Ohio in 1941. Margaret graduated from Coshocton High School in 1952 and she received her LPN degree from Marymont in Cleveland in 1958. She worked at Metropolitan General Hospital and completed her RN degree at Cuyahoga Community College in 1970. She retired from the Metzenbaum Center of Cleveland after 16 years of service. She was very active at St. Michael?s Catholic Church in Cleveland where she sang in the choir and served as treasurer of the Holy Name Society for 9 years. Margaret moved to Zanesville, Ohio in 2004 to be closer to her family and was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Her favorite pastime was reading and watching MASH and Jeopardy on television and she was an expert on English and American history. She also loved to travel and made several trips to London and Ireland. Surviving are nieces and nephews, Holly (Douglas) Baker and Kenneth Winterhalter of Zanesville, Will Winterhalter of DeGraff, Ohio, Bruce (Yvonne) Graham and Craig (Sharon) Graham of Melbourne, Florida; a sister in-law, Anne Doughty of Coshocton, Ohio; six great nephews, including her God-Son, Frazier Baker; two great nieces and one great great niece. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Bill Winterhalter, a sister and brother in-law, Nancy and Bill Graham and a very good friend, Ele Pagor. Calling hours will be 3 to 5pm Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street with a memorial service at 5:00pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church at a later date.
