Obituary

Margaret I. Crozier, 87, of Dresden, Ohio died Thursday afternoon, January 11, 2018 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio.

Born June 26, 1930 in Dresden, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Thelma (Moore) Wright. Margaret was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, birdwatching and being outdoors.

Many Dresden area residents may remember seeing Margaret at the Dresden Cemetery, helping her husband, Willard, mowing grass or hand digging a grave. She loved working at the cemetery. Day in and day out they were there, keeping it meticulously neat and proper, as if it were their own yard. At the time, Willard was the cemetery Sexton, but Margaret just enjoyed being there, taking care of family's loved ones who had passed. What most people didn't know was, that all of Margaret's time and work and love given to the cemetery was all volunteer, she was never paid. For nearly 20 years she was dedicated to making the cemetery a beautiful and peaceful place. And now, she shall rest in peace.

Surviving are six daughters, Wanda (Tony) Green of Adamsville, Ohio and Peggy Shelton, Becky (Geoff Percy) Stotts, Nancy (Scott) Robinson, Janet Kildow and Kathy (David) Coats, all of Dresden; one son, Ronnie (Bobbie) Crozier of Dresden; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and her pet cat "Miss Kitty".

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Willard Crozier whom she married May 3, 1946 and who died June 3, 2005; two brothers, Kenneth Wright and Richard Wright; a son in-law, Daniel Shelton and a sister in-law, Mildred Wright.

Calling hours will be Sunday afternoon, January 14, 2018 from 2pm to 4pm at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, January 15, 2018 at the funeral home with Minister Mark Granger officiating. Margaret will be laid to rest in her beloved Dresden Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Shelter, 1430 Newark Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
