Marcia Lynn Brown, 63, of Nashport, Ohio died Wednesday afternoon, October 15, 2014 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville.
Born April 18, 1951 in Marietta, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Fred C. and Viola (Medley) Webster and was a 1969 graduate of Marietta High School. Mrs. Brown was a very active member of the Dresden First Baptist Church and the Ladies Missionary Fellowship of the church. She also worked with the pregnancy crisis center of Zanesville.
Surviving is her husband Melvin L. Brown whom she married September 12, 1970; two daughters, Melissa Ward of Gahanna, Ohio and Marianne Brown of Nashport; two sons, Melvin L. (Karyn) Brown, II of Norwich, Ohio and Matthew L. (Amber) Brown of Canal Winchester, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Rebecca, Abigail, Elijah, Abraham, Malachi and Solomon Brown; a brother, Robert (Cindy) Webster of Florida; three sisters, Margaret (Bill) South of Waterford, Ohio, Janice Cline of Marietta and Mary (Roger) Patterson of Lowell, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, John Webster and a sister, Sandra Brown.
Calling hours will be 2pm to 5pm Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Dresden First Baptist Church, 801 Chestnut Street with Pastor Joseph Offenberger officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
