NEWARK ? A memorial service celebrating the life of Marcella G. Foltz, 87 of Newark will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Fairfield Beach United Methodist Church with Pastor Terry Borah officiating. Mrs. Foltz passed away Friday morning, May 15, 2009 at Mt. Carmel East Medical Center, Columbus. She was born February 12, 1922 in Thurston to the late Clayton and Edna (Hiles) Markel. A 1940 graduate of Thurston High School, Mrs. Foltz had worked at Hartshorn Bakery in Newark and at Yesterday?s Pub. She was devoted to her family, she lived for them; and her friends were friends for life. Survivors include her sons, Roger (Darla) Foltz, and Jack (Carol) Foltz, both of Newark; grandchildren, Scott Foltz of Columbus, Angie Foltz of Heath, Jenna Foltz of Newark, Cyndi (Bill) Yost of Newark, Michelle (Tom) Moroney of Mansfield; great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kati, Jordan and Brian; six great-great grandchildren; a brother, Howard Valentine of Newark; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John Valentine, Thomas Valentine, Harry Valentine, Jr.; and a sister, Mary Gallup. Friends and family may visit two hours prior to the service, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the church, 5570 Fairfield Beach Rd., Thornville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Carmel Hospice, 1144 Dublin Road, Columbus, OH 43215. Envelopes will be available at the church. The Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
