Marcelene H. Cooper, 93, of Dresden, Ohio died Sunday afternoon, February 12, 2017 at Primrose Retirement Community of Zanesville.
Born September 20, 1923 in Muskingum Township of Muskingum County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph W. and Martha F. (Watt) Harper and was a 1941 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Mrs. Cooper was a life-long resident of Muskingum Township and a member of Muskingum Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker and assisted her late husband in the operation of their family farm, a job she truly enjoyed. Her greatest enjoyment was being with her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Arlene (Don) Quinn of Zanesville and Diana Paul of Orlando, Florida; two sons, William "Bill" (Kathy) Cooper of Granville, Ohio and Will Cooper of Dublin, Virginia; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister, Ritchie Jones of Struthers, Ohio and one step-brother, John (Beth) Flynn of Zanesville and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Loy Max Cooper, whom she married August 27, 1950 and who died March 18, 2002 and a son Samuel A. Cooper.
Calling hours will be from 10am to NOON on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Muskingum Presbyterian Church, 4545 Gorsuch Road, Nashport, Ohio.
Funeral services will be at NOON, Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the church with Pastor Donna Edsall officiating. Burial will be in Muskingum Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
