FRAZEYSBURG ? Mabel F. Wolford, 91, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Friday evening, October 17, 2008, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio. Born November 11, 1916 in Licking County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Sarah (Staggers) Romine and she attended Hanover High School. Mrs. Wolford was an active homemaker until two and half years ago and has since resided in Apple Tree Homes in Dresden. She retired in 1978 from Brockway Glass of Zanesville where she was an inspector and was a past secretary of the Brockway Glass Union. She was a member of the Frazeysburg Presbyterian Church and had been a Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Wolford was very active in the Frazeysburg community and was a member of the Twentieth Century Club, the board of elections, a past PTA president and a member of the Frazeysburg Swimming Pool Committee. Surviving is one son, Donald H. (Beverly) Wolford of Zanesville; one daughter, Betty L. Myers of Frazeysburg; four grandchildren, Cheryl (John) Crown of Frazeysburg, Keena (Dr. Chris) Briggs of New Albany, Ohio, Dr. Douglas (Martha) Myers of Zanesville and Derek (Charlotte) Myers of Pataskala, Ohio; nine great grandchildren, Emily Wolford of Zanesville, Logan Wolford of Columbus, Mitchell and Madison Briggs of New Albany, Megan and Shannon Myers of Zanesville and Lindsey, Kelsey and Kiley Myers of Pataskala; two nieces, Roxanne (Peter II) Dikteruk of Richmond, Virginia and Rhonda (Mike) Repp of Aurora, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Foster Wolford, whom she married October 29, 1932 and who died March 5, 1998; a son in-law, Dean Myers and a sister and brother in-law, Harold and Mary Ellen Saultz. Calling hours will be 5 to 8pm Monday, October 20, 2008 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at the funeral home with Dr. James A. Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
