Obituary

Mabel Catherine Bowden, 90, of Dresden, died at 1:55PM Wednesday March 29, 2006 at The Ohio State University Medical Center. She was born April 1, 1915 in Madison Township, Muskingum County, a daughter of the late William H. and Kate (Dickey) Skinner. Mrs. Bowden was a 1931 graduate of Jefferson High School in Dresden, was a homemaker, a member of the Dresden United Methodist Church, 4-H advisor for several years, a former member of the Rosewood Garden Club and had volunteered at Bethesda Hospital in Zanesville for 23 years. Surviving is her sister, Evelyn (Donnis) Huff, 8 nephews, 2 nieces and 2 cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Bowden on February 3, 1972, they had married April 17, 1938; an infant son, Wayne Allen Bowden, two brothers, Raymond Skinner and Ernest Skinner and a sister, Alice (Skinner) Prince. Friends may call from Noon until the funeral service time at 2PM Saturday April 1, 2006 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home. Pastor Ricci Arthur will officiate and burial will be in the Dresden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dresden United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 101, Dresden, OH 43821.
