M. Colette Untied, 85, of Dresden, Ohio passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, January 27, 2016 at Genesis Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born April 13, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio she was a daughter of the late William and Loretta (Clark) Stackhouse. Mrs. Untied was a very faithful member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Dresden. She was a homemaker and a retired grill cook, having worked at the Scotties Den in Dresden for many years. She loved animals, especially her cats, and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are two daughters, Margaret C. Blair of Zanesville and Dianna (Robert) Ellis of Lancaster, Ohio; a son, Douglas J. (Katie Cremeans) of Frazeysburg; two sisters, Ruth (G. J. "Bud") Mattevi of New Philadelphia, Ohio and Catherine (Andrew) Armbrust of Lenoir City, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Constance Snurr of Dresden, Charity Raines, Jennifer (John) Bechstein, Joseph (Lori) Untied, Jeffrey Untied, all of Zanesville, Michael (Britnee) Kanavel of Dresden and Austin Howard of Lancaster; seventeen great grandchildren and seventeen great great grandchildren. Also surviving are her very special friends and aids, Debbie and Tammy Kyser.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne L. Untied, whom she married October 22, 1949 and who died October 10, 2010, a son John W. Untied who died December 12, 2015 and four infant children.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Monday, February 1, 2016 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street. Christian Wake services will be at 8pm at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 405 Chestnut Street, Dresden, Ohio with the Rev. Father Donald Franks celebrating.
