Funeral services for M. Eleanor Shonebarger, 78 of Newark will be held Monday June 14, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.Mrs. Shonebarger died Friday June 11, 2004 at the LPN Health Care Facility. She was born March 26, 1926 in Salesville, Ohio to the late Wayne and Lillian M. (Dement) Dollison.She is survived by a daughter Judith (Rickie) Nelson of Newark; son, Michael (Rita) Shonebarger of Columbus; sister, Arletta (Carl) Roberts of Heath; grandchildren, Mickey (Stephanie) Shonebarger of Virginia Beach, Va., Carrie Shonebarger of Columbus, Shawn Nelson and Jeremy Nelson both of Newark; great grandchildren, Michael and Hunter Shonebarger; nephews, Randy (Melissa) Roberts of Heath, Robin (Lanie) Roberts of Ashland and John Roberts of Newark.She was a member of Christian Endeavor United Methodist Church, a founding member of the Kaiser Guys and Gals Bowling League, member of Kaiserettes Bowling League and Crest Ridge Garden Club in Florida. She also was a former volunteer for the Easter Seals and Licking Memorial Hospital.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Russell Shonebarger Sept. 13, 1997, a daughter Margaret Carol Shonebarger and a brother Donald W. Dollison.Calling hours will be observed Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street Newark.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Central Ohio.
