A funeral service for Rev. Lynn A. McClain, 59 of Newark will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2008 at Davis-Weaver Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Owens officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Masonic Cemetery. Mr. McClain passed away Friday at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born November 30, 1948 in Salem, WV to the late Hobart A. McClain and Mary B. (Nicholson) McClain. Mr. McClain was a member and part time pastor at Licking Baptist Church. He was ordained in 1985, and was among the Cambridge Who?s Who of Clergy. He worked for Buckeye Ready Mix in Newark. Mr. McClain was a certified veterinary technician; a devoted family man; and an avid NASCAR fan. He loved to watch races and football. In addition to his mother, Mr. McClain is survived by his wife of 38 years, Debra M. (Strother) McClain; a son, Mark (Heidi) McClain of Newark; a daughter, Trina (Christopher) Russo of Concord, NH.; brothers, William (Barbara) McClain, Nelson (Kim) McClain, both of Salem, WV.; sisters, Lynda (Richard) Nicholson, of Salem, WV, Judy (John) Edgell of Marietta, OH, Jill (John) Garrison of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Callie and Corey McClain, and Gabriella Russo. Friends may visit 5-9 p.m. Monday at Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark; and 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 E. Main Street, Clarksburg, WV 26301.
