Lucy Maude Dawson, 103, of Dresden, died Tuesday morning February 15, 2005 at Adams Lane Care Center. A daughter of Leonard and Nettie (Dickey) Felumlee, Mrs. Dawson was born December 13, 1901 in Nashport and was the oldest living alumni of Nashport High School. A 1924 graduate of the School of Music in Putnam, she was a member and long time organist for the Dresden U. Methodist Church. Mrs. Dawson worked as a secretary at Jefferson High School in Dresden and was a charter member of the Rosewood Garden Club. Surviving are two nephews and a niece, Leonard (Betsi) Lebold of Heath, Ronald Heft of Chillicothe, Dorothy Walcott of Zanesville and several great nieces and nephews and great great and great great great nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Charles E. Dawson on April 9, 1958; and her three sisters, Marjorie Heft, Ada Stewart and Dorothy Cagney. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Friday February 18, 2005 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Ricci Arthur officiating. Burial will follow the Dresden Cemetery.
