Obituary

Lucille Z. (Lacy) Starner, of Dresden, died May 24, 2007 in Newark, Ohio where she had been staying since 2005. Born August 3, 1916, a daughter of Richard and Mina Mae (Gilmore) Lacy, Lucille spent her working life in and around Dresden where she was an active owner in businesses including a market, ice cream shop and the Star Theater. She retired from Popeye?s restaurant where for years she was known for her cakes and pies. Lucille is survived by her sister, Betty (Junior) Roberts of Dresden and brother, Kenneth ?Bud? (June) Lacy of Dresden; by daughters, Joanne M. Unger, Earlene R. (William) Corban, and son Earl E. (Johnna) Starner, Jr; grandchildren, Darren (Sally) Lacy, Brian (Nicole) Lacy, Cindy (Tony) Daniels, Amy (Daniel) Menster, Todd (Gretchen) Corban, Jody (Clint) Cornell and Karen Starner; twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Ed, Dick, Ernest and Bob Lacy; sisters, Pansy Fell, Dorothy Hammer, Kathleen Henery, Jane Noland and Mildred Dowell, and infant sister, Marie Lacy. Lucille requested a graveside service. Burial will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 26, 2007 in the Dresden Cemetery.
