A funeral service for Lucille Sellers, 93 of Newark will be held Friday April 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 383 Washington Street with Rev. Dr. Charles W. Noble officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens.Mrs. Sellers died Saturday March 29, 2008 at the Autumn Health Care. She was born November 27, 1914 in Dutch Bend, Alabama to the late Decator and Latisha Moorer.She retired in 1979 from Newark Telephone Company as a cook. She had also been employed by Newark Hospital as a dietician. She was a member for 62 years at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and served on the Stewardess Board. She was a member of the Nimble Thimble Club.Survivors include her son, Robert L. Sellers of Newark; daughters, Bernice (Art) Matthews of Newark, Earline Sellers of Newark, Olivia Thomas of Newark, Magdalene ?Beany? Sellers of Bakersfield, CA.; brother-in-law, Wiley Crenshaw of Alabama; sister-in-law, Gussie Moorer of Newark; good friend, Mary Farmer of Newark; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Sellers; son, Lee E. ?Tim? Sellers; granddaughter, Audrey Matthews, brothers, Oliver D. Moorer, John D. Moorer, Ira Lee Moorer; sisters, Ebbie L. Crenshaw, Lucinda Moorer and Tommie Cockrum.Calling hours will be observed Thursday evening 6 to 8 p.m. at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home 1850 West Main Street and Friday one hour before services at the church.
