Obituary

Louis W. Bice, 82, of Dresden, Ohio died Saturday evening, June 3, 2017 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio.

Born February 22, 1935 in Dresden he was a son of the late Jacob and Lucille (Randles) Bice and was a 1953 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Many years later he received an Associate's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering from MATC. He was retired from Smurfit-Stone Container/JII where he was a paper tester and a lab technician. Mr. Bice was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Dresden and a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus of Coshocton and was a Past Grand Knight. He was a Democratic Central Committeeman in Muskingum County an election poll worker. Louis loved being around people and operated his son's Kettle Corn Stand on Main Street in Dresden. He also enjoyed his 3pm coffee at Dresden McDonald's.

Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Terry L. (Steen) Bice whom he married April 3, 1968; two sons, Christopher (Dawn) Bice of Coshocton and Timothy Bice of Zanesville; four daughters, Marla (Kevin) Flood of Dresden, Teresa King of Zanesville, Tammy (Donald) Findeiss of Zanesville and Laurie (Ted) Rasky of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Also surviving is one brother, William (Jackie) Bice of Zanesville and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Rodney Bice and Edgar Bice and a sister, Donna Easley.

Calling hours will be 4pm to 8pm Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street. Rosary will be recited at the funeral home following calling hours.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30am Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 405 Chestnut Street, Dresden, Ohio with the Rev. Father Donald Franks as celebrant. Burial will follow in Dresden Cemetery.
