Loretta Lee Cross Prouty, 89, of Zanesville peacefully departed this life Sunday morning, May 7, 2023 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, OH.
Born November 18, 1933, in Parkersburg, WV, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence L. and Grace (Boone) Cross. She retired after many years from Camden Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg. She was loved by many. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved. She lived out her faith in a quiet but consistent manner. She professed her faith in Jesus at an early age and followed Him all her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dresden, OH. Loretta was united in marriage to Loren Elwood Prouty March 16,1996 in Vienna, WV.
Surviving is her beloved husband of 27 years, Loren Elwood Prouty of Zanesville; whom she united in marriage on March 16, 1996; her 4 daughters whom she loved with all her heart, Sherri (Jim) Smith, Debbie (Jim) Neidich, Kathy (Joe) Barnett, Beverly (Mark) Hitchcock; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; four step-sons, Randy (Darlene) Prouty, David Prouty, Tony (Dawn) Prouty and Logan (Carly) Prouty; five step- grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren and a sister, Carolyn (Earl) Young.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Christian Reynolds.
Friends and family may call Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 10:00 am till the time of service at 11:30 am with Mr. Frosty Pierce and Rev. James Neidich officiating at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street, Dresden.
Loretta will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Garden, Parkersburg, West Virginia.
She dwells with her Savior for all eternity.
