Obituary

Loren H. Knicely, 73, of Adamsville, Ohio died Sunday evening, March 22, 2015 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville, Ohio after an extended illness.

Born August 1, 1941 in Adamsville, he was a son of the late Donald H. and Margaret R. (Gosser) Knicely and was a 1959 graduate of Adamsville High School. Loren was a retired farmer raising beef cattle, crops and hay. He was also a retired machinist from the Conesville power plant. Loren was a life-long member of New Hope Lutheran Church and former member of the church council. For 35 years he was treasurer of the New Hope Cemetery Association. He was a member of Hubbard Lodge #220, F. & A. M. in Adamsville, the Ancient & Accepted Order of Scottish Rite, Valley of Cambridge, the Muskingum County Farm Bureau and the Adamsville Alumni Association. He was also a former member of Eureka Grange and the Adamsville Community Fire Department. Loren enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling, gardening and participating in tractor pulls. He was also very proud of his tractor collection. Loren was very community minded and volunteered in all the many area activities. He was an exceptional individual who was loved and respected by all who knew him.

Surviving is his wife, Connie (Hladek) Knicely whom he married August 18, 2000; a son, Bryan Knicely of Evansville, Indiana; a daughter, Lori (David) Regan of Berkley, California; two granddaughters, Skylar and Madeline Regan, a brother, David (Kathie) Knicely of Adamsville. Also surviving are four nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Emily Knicely and a brother, Paul Knicely.

Calling hours will be 3pm to 7pm Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the New Hope Lutheran Church, 7025 Adamsville-Otsego Road, Adamsville.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, March 27, 2015 at New Hope Lutheran Church with Pastor Mary Molnar officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.
