FRAZEYSBURG – Lois J. Shaw, 72, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died at noon Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Genesis Morrison House Hospice, Zanesville, Ohio.
Born October 1, 1938 in Zanesville she was the daughter of the late John Jake and Olive M. (Noland) Nethers and was a 1956 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. She was also a 1960 graduate of Ohio University. Mrs. Shaw was a retired elementary school teacher, spending most of her career at Frazeysburg Elementary School. She was a member of the Frazeysburg Presbyterian Church and the Muskingum County Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery and being with her family.
Surviving are two sons and daughters in-law, John Andrew and Jennifer Shaw of Delaware, Ohio and James Stanley and Shereé Shaw of Edmond, Oklahoma; one daughter and son in-law, Jennifer Lynn and Bill Ogg of Hebron, Ohio; five grandchildren, Ben, Jake and Samantha Shaw and Will and Olivia Ogg; two sisters, Janet (Gary) Hofacker of Athens, Alabama and Trisha Kirk of Columbus, Ohio; a "special" sister in-law, Janet (Warren) Baker of Frazeysburg and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Francis Shaw, Jr., whom she married December 23, 1960 and who died August 29, 2010.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at the funeral home with the Rev. James Story officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
