Lois Elaine Gardner, 92, passed away early Saturday morning, December 6, 2025 at the Oaks at Bethesda in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born November 2, 1933 in Gratiot, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Virgil D. & Bernice M. (Varner) Baird. Lois retired from the Ohio Division of Parks after many years of dedicated service. She was a member of the Frazeysburg United Methodist Church and past member of the 50 Club of Frazeysburg. Lois was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving is her son, George Jeffrey (Susan) Gardner of Gahanna; her daughter, Connie Hickman Watton of Zanesville; three grandchildren, Ryan (Schyler) Gardner of Gahanna, Heath (Tonya) Watton of Zanesville, and Amanda Gardner (Stephen) Anthony of New York, NY; three great grandchildren, Madison Watton, Drew Watton, and Jamie Anthony; a sister, Bonnie Chapman of Dahlonega, GA and her niece and nephew.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clayton E. Gardner whom she married July 23, 1960 and who died January 1, 2016; son in-law, Terry Watton and Connie's longtime partner, Loren Long.
Friends and family may call 11am to 1pm on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will immediately follow the conclusion of visitation at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 with Mr. Eric Wasson officiating.
Lois will be laid to rest beside her husband, Clayton, in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
